(NEWS UPDATE USA FAST)-- Israeli officials said that three people died in an attack on the border between Jordan and the occupied West Bank. The IDF announced that the shooting incident occurred at the Allenby Bridge crossing, where three Israeli civilians died. The attacker, who came from the Jordanian side with a truck, managed to get out and start shooting before being neutralized by security personnel. IDF is now checking the truck for explosives.
The victims were identified by Israeli media as men in their 50s. Jordan, meanwhile, has shut down its side of the crossing and has launched an investigation into Monday's incident. It happened in an area of Israeli-controlled territory where Jordanian vehicles bring in goods to the West Bank. The Allenby Bridge, also called the King Hussein Bridge, lies about midway between Amman and Jerusalem and is the only official crossing point between the West Bank and Jordan.
